The closeness to the beach and the size of property which was both child and pet friendly ticked all the boxes for us! Only there for a few days but could easily have stayed longer. The house itself is modern and spacious, a warm, double-glazed haven where the winds coming off the sea howl around furiously but are nothing more than sounds. Beautiful sunrises from the windows and balconies. Big bathrooms including one with a freestanding bathtub - great for bathtime with a toddler. Underfloor-heated tiled floor in the living area and kitchen is practical while carpets in upstairs bedrooms are cosy and comfortable. Lovely big dining table and another large table to easily seat 8 in the kitchen. Comfortable beds and pillows. Dishwasher, washing machine and two fridges all came in handy. |

Southbourne beach is pretty much faultless as far as British beaches go - soft sand, clear waters and great views. As a family of 8 we quickly settled into the property and felt at ease. So close to the beach, sea views, well maintained and perfect for 3 mums and 6 boys. Great outside space for cars, boys to play, mums to sit & sip. Getting into the house was seamless as was speaking with the owner ahead of our trip. It really was the best holiday in the UK. We can’t wait to book again for next year. Duvets need to be a lighter weight for summer nights. Radiators in bedrooms came on in the morning. No locks on toilet facilities. Could do with a full length mirror in the main bedrooms. Black out curtains would be a bonus to stop us waking up so early. |

John & Sue were fantastic; they provided lots of tips and eating recommendations, which were gratefully received as we has a vegetarian in the group. Bistro on the Beach became our breakfast haunt. All the produce there are excellent, from sausages to cakes. We had a meal at Ludo Lounge the first night, but we pushed the boat out and had a classic tasting menu at Roots Restaurant. It was quite simply an amazing meal. I've been to Michelin Starred restaurants that are less impressive. Highly recommended & criminally under awarded. |

We needed a house to accommodate our fairly large grown up family so that we could all get together for a milestone birthday. We came across this house after looking for while and were impressed by the reviews. It's light and airy with high-ceilings so there is a wonderful sense of space wherever you are. The bedrooms are either of decent or decadent sizes, the whole place is immaculately clean with all the provisions, utensils and home comforts you need. The gas BBQ on the deck is a real plus enabling you to cook whilst enjoying the sea air and 180 degree views all from Swanage to Hengistbury Head. |

We were a group of 9 adults and our 2.5 years old son; we felt very comfortable. We also appreciated the attention to detail and the very thoughtful welcome message and gift. We loved the house so much that we canceled our evening plans to dine in and make the most of the property. We enjoyed the garden who has a nice view to the sea. The beach is within 2-3’ waking distance (you basically cross a small road and go down a zig zag path). This is a sandy beach, very clean and with a path that runs for miles (ideal for walks and runs). If you walk a few minutes down that path, you will find a pretty restaurant (the Bistrot). We had lunch there, the food was great. There are very nice long walks that you can start from the house, and you can walk to local shops. |

The home is lovely and light - my bugbear is dark rooms, low lighting - but with plenty of natural light through the large windows and contemporary decor, we all felt calm and relaxed. Lots of kitchen equipment for self-catering; comfy beds; efficient showers; everything new and clean; and some generous treats to make us very welcome. But the location is one of the best things ... just over the road from the most glorious sandy beach that goes on and on! You can even trot over there in your swimming gear and towel (like our grandson did!) - no worries about parking, or walking a distance - what a luxury. Why have we never been to Southbourne beach before? We'll definitely be back, it's absolutely lovely.
